Q.C Labratory Technician | Arkema Inc. | Birdsboro, PA

Perform all aspects of Quality Control testing, sampling, and associated data entry into LIMS and SAP relating to production paperwork, in-process and finished goods for Poly, Finishing, Powder and Powder Color Processing departments, as well as tolled products. Assist with Powder and Mechanical testing, as needed, for certification testing of products. Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including possible weekends and holidays, with focus on evening hours.
  • Quality Control testing for certification of products.
  • Perform special or mechanical testing, as needed.
  • Perform maintenance, calibration and verification of all Q.C. and Mechanical testing equipment.
  • Maintain required documentation and filing of test, calibration and verification records, as required by A2LA Accreditation and ISO 9001:2008.
  • Participate in R & R studies, and maintain qualification for testing. Assist in record keeping for R & R studies and chart maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain skills to mold test sample bars.
  • Maintain knowledge of changes / improvements to Arkema test procedures.
  • Assist in internal and external audits.
  • Follow all Corporate and Site Safety Policies and Regulations.
  • Participate fully in BEST process as an active observer and by requesting observations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum high school diploma (or equivalent) with two years of production-oriented lab experience or (preferred) Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with others to troubleshoot problems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Ability to work a varied shift schedule, including possible weekends and holidays, with focus on evening hours.
