Ability and knowledge to maintain accuracy and reliability of all
electronic and pneumatic controlling and recording
instrumentation/equipment in the plant. Understand operations of
electronic speed controls and variable frequency drives. Perform
troubleshooting and redesign of control circuits and up to 480-volt
electrical equipment. Maintain reliability and functionality of
mechanical equipment and processes utilized in manufacturing and
laboratory operations. Perform preventative maintenance tasks as
required to maintain equipment dependability. Diagnose, trouble shoot,
and perform required tasks to maintain equipment operational status.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Computer literacy and understanding of PLC's and DCS.
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, Plant PID's, and equipment
manuals. Practical experience with control valves and transmitters of
all types (DP, radar, nuclear, capacitance, etc). Familiarization with
valve packing, piping, and gasketing. Analyze and repair electrical
power failures within operating processes. Practical experience and
acquired training skills of at least five (5) years in a high tech
industry as a Controls/Instrument/Electrical Technician. Capability to
follow written procedures. Exhibit excellent communication and
interpersonal skills. Comply with all technical, quality control, and
product manufacturing safety procedures and instructions associated with
plant operations. Must have physical dexterity in climbing stairs,
ladders, and handling the manual requirements of all maintenance
operations. The C & I Mechanic is required to operate powered industrial
trucks, including the high reach, scissors lift, and skid loader units.
Must exhibit safe work practices. Must be available to work weekends,
holidays, evenings, and overtime assignments as required.
